The Head of the Admissions Committee of the Study in English Programme at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts Poznan informs all intending applicants for first and second-cycle studies in the academic year 2023/2024 that the deadline for submitting applications for studies has been extended to Monday 1st August 2023. The fields and levels of studies that still accept applications are:
– Intermedia – second-cycle studies
– Stage Design – second-cycle studies
– Product Design – second-cycle studies
– Painting – first and second-cycle studies
– Graphic Design – first and second-cycle studies
– Interior Design – first and second-cycle studies
– Photography – first and second-cycle studies

UAP is visited annually by students from many different countries and Polish students go abroad. Moreover, the university has an extensive exchange program with non-European countries such as China, Israel, Brazil, Japan and the United States.

UAP also offers full-time BA and MA degree programmes taught in English under a common name ‘Study in English’. Each year, we welcome students from all around the world.

Stages of the qualification procedure for programmes starting in October 2023:

11 March 2023 – 30 June 2023 – submission of applications. All required documents should be collected and sent to the following email address: international@uap.edu.pl

30 June 2023 – Deadline for recruitment fee payments

30 June 2023 – Deadline for candidates to submit their documents

3 July – 14 July – Cover letters and portfolios of applicants tobe reviewed by the Admission Committee. Each applicant will be informed about the status of their application via email. The maximum score is 15 points and the minimum eligibility score is 10 points (the maximum scores are: 5 points for cover letter and 10 points for portfolio).17 July – 21 July 2023 – Announcement of accepted candidates. Accepted students will be required to pay the tuition fee for the first year or for the first semester of their studies to receive the Admission Letter.

24 July – 26 July 2023 – Submission of resignations to the email address international@uap.edu.pl by candidates who have been qualified but declined admission

October 2023 – international students admitted for the first year will be obliged to deliver the original versions of documents submitted in the application process to the International Office for verification.
NOTE: The university reserves the right not to launch the course of study in the event of insufficient number of candidates.

WHAT SHOULD A COMPLETE APPLICATION CONTAIN?

FOR BA CANDIDATES

  • application form with personal data corresponding to the data in applicant’s passport;  please attach a photograph;
  • cover letter;
  • original, certified-true copy or notarized photocopy of high school completion certificate – corresponding to Polish matura exam. Documents should be legalized or
    apostilled by the Embassy of Poland or Consulate and translated into English (if not issued in this language);
  • English language certificate – see the list below;
  • portfolio of 15-20 images (including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film or multimedia projects depending on the chosen degree program).
    Works in the portfolio should not be older than 2 years. No more than 3 movie files (*.mov) can be included. Detailed information is available in  section  https://en.uap.edu.pl/admission/study-in-english/documents/ ;
  • confirmation of payment of enrollment fee;
  • proof of health insurance covering the period of the the whole academic year in Poland or a written statement in which the applicant states that they will arrive in Poland with a valid health insurance that covers the period of the whole academic year in Poland or that they will join the voluntary health insurance plan offered by Polish National Health Fund upon arrival.

  • application form that includes personal data corresponding to Applicant’s passport data and full-color photograph,
  • cover letter,
  • copy of BA diploma translated into English (if not issued in this language),
  • document confirming the curriculum of completed studies (supplement to the diploma/transcript of records in English),
  • English language certificate – see the list below,
  • letter of recommendation (in English) by a lecturer representing the university applicant graduated from,
  • a portfolio of 15-20 images (including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film or multimedia projects depending on the chosen degree program). Works in the porfolio should not be older than 2 years. No more than 3 movie files (*.mov) can be included. The deadlines for making the payments:
• October 2nd, 2023 (for the winter semester)
• January 31st, 2024 (for the spring semester)
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Statutory interest is charged on fees paid after the deadline.
2. In the event of arrears for more than 3 months results in a removal from the list of students.
3. The fees are non-refundable except for the following situations:
• Dean’s leave
• resignation from studies due to health reasons supported by a medical certificate
• resignation from studies due to other unforeseen circumstances
4. In the event of a difficult financial situation of or taking up another field of studies which requires paying another tuition fee, a foreigner may apply to the Rector for a reduction of tuition fees or exemption from fees.
