The exhibition entitled Żuławka 13 – Traces of Stone Age Multi-Phase Settlement in Wielkopolska is another effect of cooperation between the Institute of Archaeology of Adam Mickiewicz University and the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies of the University of the Arts Poznan.
The exhibition features archaeological materials gathered at the excavation site in the village of Żuławka located in the northern part of Wielkopolska region. That area has been settled by various groups for 12.000 years. It started in Stone Age with small communities of hunter-gatherers and, later, farmers.
In the course of archaeological excavation, multiple traces of the such communities were found. The exhibition will feature those traces, as well as the ways a brief explaination of how they were documented and interpreted. Visitors will be able to see flint artifacts that illsutrate early techniques of stone processing, tools from the Upper Paleolithic and the Mesolitic and fragments of neolithic vessels.
