Allegro Prize 2022, the next edition of the international competition for visual artists, is about to start! The aim of the competition is to support and promote visual artists from around the world. In this year’s edition, the total prize is PLN 80,000. In addition to 3 winners selected by an international jury related to the world of art, an additional Audience Award will also be presented.

More than 3,000 artists from around the world took part in previous editions. Last year, applications from over 90 countries were received, and on the podium there were artists from India, Afghanistan and Poland, who raised important social issues in their works. The Allegro Prize is also a kind of platform where art lovers, curators, collectors and gallery owners from all over the world can learn about new talents, distinguished by a well-known jury. In this year’s edition, applications will be judged by: Joanna Kamm (director of Liste Art Fair Basel), Ksenia Malykh (head of the PinchukArtCentre Research Platform), Slavs and Tatars (a world-famous artistic collective), Anja Rubik (supermodel, philanthropist and founder of the Sexed.pl foundation) ), Dorian Batycka (art curator and writer), and the organizers – Dobromiła Błaszczyk & Sylwia Krasoń (art historians, editor-in-chief of Contemporary Lynx magazine) and Karolina Miszczak (owner of the Collections and Art category at Allegro). Allegro Prize is open to all artists. Everyone, regardless of age or discipline, is encouraged to participate, including those who have not completed their studies in art. We know that substantive support is an important element that allows artists to reach a wide audience. Therefore, apart from financial prizes, other awards will also be given, i.e. the publication of works in the Contemporary Lynx magazine and promotion on social media channels.

This year, the jury will award 3 financial prizes worth PLN 25,000 each, as well as 10 distinctions. In addition, the winners will have the opportunity to present their work in Contemporary Lynx in a special article devoted to their work. This year’s edition was also extended with the Audience Award worth 5,000 PLN. After the shortlist is announced on November 16, everyone will be able to vote for their favorite from among 30 names selected by the jury.
