Ambivalence in this case defies a uniform definition. The works become an image of the main theme, shown from multiple perspectives. It will be possible to observe the differences that occur between implementations. In the absence of restrictions on the technique of execution, freedom of choice could act as both a facilitator and a hindrance. Artists use well-known symbolism, presenting the title concept through the prism of social problems. However, some of the creators decided to reach deep into their experiences and think about what situations trigger this state in them. In other works, the main topic is the feeling of ambivalence itself, understood as dissecting the mechanism that appears with a mental split. All these perspectives come down to a common message that reflects both the universality of experiences and a more personal attitude to the motto.
The exhibition presents artistic works prepared by students of Curatorial Studies, Art Theory and Art Education during an open-air workshop organized at Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts Poznan.
The exhibition will be on display in two editions, giving viewers the opportunity to learn not only many stories, but also extensive points of view.
