5th Congress of the Academic Network for Safety and Equality

The Congress takes place on April 24-25, 2025 in Poznan, and is co-organized by the Poznan University of Technology and the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts Poznan.

The topic of our 5th Congress is: Sexual Harassment in the Academic Environment. State of Research, Good Practices, Challenges for the Future.

The Congress is patronized by:

  • Dr. DSc, Eng. Agnieszka Misztal, prof. PP, Chairwoman of the Conference of Vice-Rectors for Education and Student Affairs of Polish Technical Universities, a consultative body at KRPUT
  • Prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology
  • Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, Rector of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan
  • Prof. Maciej Kurak, Rector of the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts Poznan

    UAP is represented by dr. Justyna Ryczek, Dean of Art Education and Curatorial Studies Faculty, and Piotr Grzywacz, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment.


    The Academic Network for Safety and Equality is a community which gathers persons entrusted by Polish Higher Education Institutions (HEI) with the protection of academic rights and values as well as safety, equality, and diversity.

    Irrespective of the names of the positions, members of ANSE are united by areas of expertise, shared experience, and the perception of the ethical values fundamental to academic life.

    In April 2023, the Network was registered as an association. Its authorities include the Board and Audit Committee.

    Objectives and scope of activities

    • Providing a space for a safe and confidential sharing of knowledge and experiences about problems which occur in Higher Education Institutions and ways of solving them.
    • Identifying the best possible patterns of action in situations demanding assistance.
    • Building a database of knowledge and good practice.
    • Diagnosing and flagging problems shared by many academic institutions.
    • Joint research and drafting of “trans-university” reports.
    • Domestic and international collaboration with organisations promoting equality and safety in Academia, such as the European Network of Ombuds in Higher Education.
    • Sharing information about domestic and international events.
