We invite you to join us for the art weekend entitled MANIFEST καιρός, a series of contemporary art exhibitions and a performative and public program prepared by the project-team from the Department of Intermedia at the University of the Arts Poznan for the last days of May and the beginning of June. The title word in Greek means a key moment for making an important decision, or a turning point after which something changes.

The international creative group has been working for several months on their interpretations of the focused keyword. New projects, works for the exhibition, video screenings, specially prepared site-specific performative actions, musical pieces and scenarios for city walks are being created. Some of these proposals by artists from the young generation have a critical dimension and invite us to discussion, others are more of an original, personal, lyrical nature, taking visual, audio or choreographic forms, others bring to mind performance lectures, we will also see activities at the interface of art and fashion. Some of these intermedia images created by the team members have a cinematographic origin, they are results of the research in social media and contemporary forms of communication, others take form of visual records and soundtracks for films that have not yet been made, or rather looped scenes arranged in series, and others completely elude simple genre definitions. As if the very form of art-practices within our MANIFESTO we say that we are moving beyond a certain comfort of naming art media in the captions of works at the exhibition in favor of a discussion about art in general, here understood as a tool for reflection and potential change.

We are expanding the audience for art, we are operating outside the usual trajectories of one environment, we want to connect different people in a common experience. We are creating a program of various activities, presentations and a map of places to wander with us around Poznan throughout the weekend from Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1. We invite you to meetings and conversations while viewing exhibitions and participating in events, to jointly consider other forms of art distribution. We will make every effort to ensure that you feel good as you travel through the next spaces of καιρός with us.
