Flowers Made of Oilcloth is an exhibition about memory that returns through the senses. The smell of tea, the sound of a ticking clock, or the sight of a wall unit filled with trinkets – these seemingly ordinary elements of everyday life create a landscape of childhood spent at grandparents’ homes. Although memories are deeply personal, they often turn out to be surprisingly shared.
The exhibition takes the form of a time capsule, a space that allows a return to the past through the body: touch, sound, and scent. It is not a reconstruction of a bygone reality, but an attempt to capture what proves most enduring: the emotions that give memories the shape of home.
