The doctoral dissertation entitled “Exhibition Publications Catalogue. Visual Identity of the Exhibition within the Maria Dokowicz Competition Cycle” reflects on the role of publications accompanying exhibitions, with particular emphasis on their significance in shaping and disseminating visual culture.

The work presents the exhibition catalogue as a tool for documenting and disseminating events of an ephemeral nature. It analyses the process of designing such publications, highlighting the key role of the graphic designer – not only as a creator of editorial form, but above all as an interpreter of the exhibition experience.

Through the creative development of visual and textual materials, the designer translates the spatial and curatorial assumptions of the event into a coherent visual narrative. In this perspective, graphic design becomes an active element of cultural communication, a bridge connecting art with its audience, making it more accessible and universal.
