The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Granada invites the academic community of art institutions worldwide to participate in the second edition of the International Comic and Graphic Narrative Exhibition “Stories of Place 2.”
This open call is addressed to students, alumni, faculty members, researchers, and technical staff interested in contemporary graphic storytelling.
The exhibition is part of the ninth edition of BAG – the International Art Festival organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts in Granada. This year’s theme focuses on real people from any historical period, whose lives are connected to a specific place through experiences that may be strange, exciting, tragic, humorous, or deeply moving.
Participants are encouraged to submit short narratives in the form of:
The works should explore stories of individuals linked to places through the memory of their inhabitants or local communities.
The Faculty of Fine Arts in Granada has long been recognized as an important center for the development and promotion of comic artists. Through this initiative, the organizers aim to support and showcase contemporary graphic narratives and related research, while fostering new voices and innovative approaches to this artistic language.
The exhibition will open in Granada on May 8th, with the possibility of being presented later in other international venues.
