The aim of the course in the 1st Bionics Studio is to equip students with practical methodological tools that will introduce, improve and facilitate the design process both at the initial stage of searching for inspiration, as well as creating a concept and thinking about the form and structure of the project. Based on the analytical, thorough observation of the natural world, taking into account the changes and phenomena taking place in it, the consequence of which is a specific shape, geometry, construction, we introduce students to a rich source of examples and ready-made solutions that are the reason for further design work. The result of this work is an object that meets the functional, structural, ergonomic and material assumptions.
The multiplicity of nature’s responses to various physical, environmental and biochemical problems allows students to choose the most convenient issue that they will not only rationally analyze, but also engage their emotions, curiosity and sensitivity.
