Design is a complex cause and effect process based on the analysis and interpretation of the context. The designer, in opposition to the artist, is not a one-man institution making authoritarian decisions, but only a link in a complex process. In the Space Interpretation Studio, we look for right proportions between individual creative thought and limitations resulting from the context and the environment. It is important to us to undertake the current problems – we live in a time of radical capitalism that deepens the climate crisis and intensifies international migration – these are factors influencing the undertaken design issues and adopted functional and material solutions. In the design process, we put emphasis on the aspects of sustainable development, climate and ecology, but also local traditions and cultural identities, combining them with the latest knowledge in the field of low and high-tech solutions. We are trying to disrupt the existing student- professor relationship in favor of a common, egalitarian conversation in an open group where anyone can speak freely. During the classes, we will try to level individual skills in using design tools, presenting analog and digital techniques.
