The aim and mission of the Department of History of Art and Philosophy – both within the structure of the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies and the University of the Arts as a whole – is to educate students in history of art, art theory, philosophy, aesthetics, logic, semiotics, cultural knowledge and contemporary art. The diversity of research interests of individual faculty members allows students to be exposed to multiple strategies of perceiving and interpreting art, culture and all artistic phenomena. We focus on developing and stimulating an awareness that we consider inalienable for the practice of not only artistic but also design creativity. The staff of the Department of History of Art and Philosophy are therefore the supervisors of many theoretical BA and MA theses prepared at many faculties of UAP. Due to the open and transdisciplinary nature of our research, we support students in the processes of enhancing intuition with knowledge, theory and awareness with commitment and professionalism.
