Department of Interdisciplinary Studies
Head of the Department
PhD Magdalena Parnasow-Kujawa
Within the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies, there are eleven art studios, which are open to both those studying at the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies and others studying at different faculties of the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznan.
The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies includes two drawing studios, three painting studios and six specialized studios with original artistic and didactic programmes: The Studio of Transdisciplinary Projects and Research (dealing with the connections between science and art), the Studio of Open Interpretations of Art (encouraging the creation of artworks that convey reflections of the type ‘art about art’), the Studio of Art in the Community Space, the Studio of Creative Projects and Activities, the Studio of Art in a Cross-Cultural Perspective (on hold for the 2024/2025 academic year) and the Studio of Creative Workshops and Artistic Interactions.
The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies places a strong emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of the creative experience. This is due to the context of the differentiated programmes of the individual studios and their adaptation to the broad artistic, cultural and social needs of today.
