Education in the Studio is intended to intensify manual and technological skills as well as learning the rules of composition. There is a strong emphasis for developing an individual approach, with topics that students come across, searching for ones unique medium and adequate tools and techniques. An artist thinks in pictures. A drawing is the first, most natural impulse and a forthright depiction of the artist’s sense of his surroundings, the situation itself and his emotions at the moment. It can be a note – a concept for a painting, sculpture, or spatial composition yet to be developed. It can also be a whole, finished artwork – the accomplishment of the artistic vision. All that defines drawing as the most personal display of the artist’s sensitivity and individual predispositions.
