Mode of study:
full-time first-cycle studies (BA 3 years), 180 ECTS points
Description of the field of study:
The Fine Arts study program is structured around a core set of courses during the first year. These introductory courses encompass all majors, including Photography, Intermedia, Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Arts, and Drawing. These courses are tailored specifically for you and will provide a great opportunity to meet other international students and make friends. We strongly believe that regardless of which art career you choose, this universal foundation of knowledge and experience will be essential for your future artistic perspective. During the first year, you will also select an Art Studio of your choice from a wide range of available studios.
It is a long-standing tradition at our university to offer students as much freedom as possible. This enables you to choose according to your artistic beliefs, needs, and preferences. Your classes will be led by a diverse group of faculty members who are not only exceptional educators but also successful artists. This will broaden your horizons and expose you to new possibilities and ways of thinking about art.
The second year of the Fine Arts program focuses on fostering your artistic growth within a major of your choice. This year consists of several elective courses, and it is entirely up to you which path you wish to pursue. To support this development, there will also be an Art Research class, which serves as a valuable tool to introduce scientific methods into the artistic process.
The third year is the diploma year. You will continue working in your elective studios, but the majority of your work will be completed in the BA Project Studio. This is where you will fully immerse yourself in the process of concluding your studies and creating your diploma work in the art field of your choice.
Throughout the program, you will also take theoretical classes, including Art History, Philosophy, and other theoretical courses selected from our university’s offerings.
During your time at the University of the Arts Poznan, you will receive constant support from the coordinators of all majors and from the International Office. They will guide you through decision-making processes, assist with any doubts or problems, and help you navigate your studies. You will encounter inspiring professors who will aid you in growing and becoming an accomplished artist.
